Israel"s "hidden gems" to feature in new campaign by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Israel Government Tourist Office has launched a promotional campaign designed to show travellers some of the lesser-known and unique experiences on offer in the country.

Speaking at World Travel Market 2011, Louise Evans, a spokesperson for the agency, said the first Hidden Gems Trilogy has been introduced in partnership with 13 tour operators and companies.

The promotions will focus on the northern, central and southern regions of the Middle Eastern nation.

"They look at off-the-beaten-track experiences that you can only experience in Israel and things that you wouldn"t perhaps associate with Israel," explained Ms Evans.

She provided examples such as attending seminars on Jewish mysticism, exploring secluded coves along the coast and sampling local wines, adding that activities such as these will make travellers feel as if they have seen the "true heart" of the country.

EasyJet recently celebrated the second anniversary of its London Luton to Tel Aviv flight route and claimed that the service has provided a significant benefit for the Israeli tourism industry.
