Namibia Visitors Urged To See Diverse Landscapes
Namibia visitors urged to see diverse landscapes by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Namibia"s diverse and contrasting landscapes are among its strongest attractions, according to the country"s tourism agency.
Rhys Powell, sales and marketing manager for the Namibia Tourism Board, pointed out that the nation is the size of the UK and France combined and boasts varying terrains in different regions.
Excursions to see some of the country"s natural attractions also provide the opportunity to look out for local wildlife.
Highlighting some of the experiences on offer, Mr Powell said: "In the north-east you have the wetland area … [and] the flood plains, so you get all the elephants trailing … through the water and you can get boat cruises all through that area."
In contrast, southern Namibia is dominated by desert areas where travellers can see giant sand dunes in destinations such as Sossusvlei.
This part of the country is also home to the second largest canyon in the world.
Windhoek, the capital city, was described by Mr Powell as a "cosmopolitan" location that seems somewhat out of place in Africa, with European-style architecture serving as a reminder of the fact that the area was once a German colony.
