Turkish tourist board teams up with Liverpool FC by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Liverpool Football Club has launched a strategic partnership with the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, which makes Turkey the club"s official partner destination.

The deal, which is the first of its kind for the popular holiday country in the UK, will include advertising rights and other advantages.

Tolga Tuyluoglu, director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office, noted that Liverpool fans already have positive associations with the nation, as the team won the Champions League final in Istanbul in 2005.

He also highlighted the significance of north-west England as a source market for the country"s tourism industry.

"Over one quarter of those taking package holidays to Turkey do so from the north-west of England, so this area is very important to Turkey," said Mr Tuyluoglu.

The English Premier League has become a major marketing platform for several destinations and travel industry brands, with Etihad Airways involved in a promotional deal with Manchester City and Emirates an official sponsor of Arsenal FC.
