Virgin launching Heathrow to Vancouver route by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Virgin Atlantic has announced that it will offer flights to Vancouver on Canada"s Pacific coast from London Heathrow next summer.

The service will operate four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and is initially due to run from 24 May until 27 October next year.

Up to 40,000 Virgin Atlantic passengers are expected to travel between London and Vancouver during the period.

Edmond Rose, director of commercial and revenue planning for the airline, said the company has received many requests to introduce a route to the Canadian destination.

"Vancouver is such a cosmopolitan city, full of culture, shopping and restaurants, but it also offers stunning beaches and a range of outdoor adventure options on its doorstep," he added.

Mr Rose went on to say that the destination has a "thriving" tourism industry that the carrier hopes to support by providing more competition in the aviation market.

As well as announcing the new service to Vancouver, Virgin Atlantic confirmed that it will be launching a second connection to San Francisco, which will operate three times a week.
