Abta Predicts Hot Destinations For 2012
Abta predicts hot destinations for 2012 by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Abta, the travel industry association, has announced some of its predictions for 2012, including a list of up-and-coming destinations set to offer new experiences for visitors.
Jordan, Colombia and Cape Verde are all set to see growth during the coming year, along with Poland and Ukraine, which will host the Euro 2012 football tournament in June and July.
The industry group also forecast that financial uncertainties will lead to many holidaymakers taking trips to tried-and-tested favourites such as France, Spain, Greece, Italy and the US.
Another potential effect of the gloomy economic outlook is growth in demand for luxury and cheap holidays, as the mid-market is set to be hit hardest by reductions in household spending.
Abta also predicted more interest in cruises, adventure breaks, activity holidays and overseas weddings.
Mark Tanzer, the association"s chief executive officer, noted that UK consumers showed resilience to financial challenges with regards to holidays in 2011 and predicted that this attitude will be maintained next year.
He added: "The squeeze on household spending looks set to continue and this is likely to see holidaymakers become more discerning about where they spend their money and what they get for it."
