EasyJet set to begin Salzburg flights from Luton by Cheap Flights Booker UK

EasyJet will launch a new route this weekend providing access to one of Austria"s most popular tourist destinations from Luton airport.

Travellers will be able to catch flights to Salzburg from Saturday (17 December) and choose from twice-weekly services.

The destination serves as a gateway to some of Austria"s ski resorts but is also popular for its own sights and attractions, some of which relate to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was born in the city.

Visitors can also take tours to some of the locations featured in classic movie The Sound of Music, parts of which were filmed in Salzburg.

Hugh Aitken, easyJet"s commercial manager, said strong forward bookings for the new route suggest it is going to prove popular with travellers.

He added: "Salzburg offers the best of both worlds for those looking for a ski or city break and has an interesting history and heritage."

The service will operate alongside the airline"s existing winter flights to Malaga, Nice, Sharm el Sheikh, Geneva and other popular destinations.
