Jersey to host second annual food festival next year by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Gastronomes could soon be arranging trips to Jersey to attend the island"s second annual food festival.
Set to return from 19 May to 27 May 2012, the culinary showcase will highlight some of the unique produce on offer in the region, with a focus on local potatoes, dairy and shellfish.
In a statement introducing the event, Jersey Tourism said: "Boasting a delicious range of tasty treats and experiences, from fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants to the world"s finest potatoes fresh from the soil, a visit to the island is a culinary experience in itself."
Highlights of next year"s programme will include tours of the Liberation Ale brewery and La Mare wine estate, oyster walks and charcuterie-making demonstrations.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to take part in clam and razorfish "digs" and meet Michelin-starred chefs.
The festival will come to an end with an al fresco food fair and the judging of the fifth annual Jersey Royal Potato Competition on the final weekend.
