Qantas Expands Faster Check In Service
Qantas expands faster check-in service by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Following the successful introduction of the service in Australia, Qantas has started the international rollout of its Faster, Smarter Check-in facility.
New Q Card readers are now operational at key ports on both sides of the Tasman Sea, meaning frequent flyers and Qantas Club members can enjoy simpler journeys between Australia and New Zealand.
While the machines are currently only available to local travellers, their introduction for trans-Tasman flights represents the first step in the airline"s strategy to expand the technology in order to streamline the international check-in experience.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said users of the service simply have to scan their frequent flyer card and passport to receive their boarding pass within seconds of arriving at the airport.
"It"s all about cutting down the journey time for our customers," he added.
The card readers will be introduced in Melbourne, Brisbane and Queenstown before the end of 2011 and launched in Christchurch next year.
