Snow conditions improving at French ski resorts by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Winter sports enthusiasts planning a ski holiday in France over the coming months have been reassured that, despite a slow start to the season, some of the country"s top resorts are now open and offering good conditions.

Atout France, the country"s tourism development agency, revealed that the famous skiing hotspots of Val d"Isere and Val Thorens are now welcoming visitors, along with Isola 2000 on the Riviera, from where it is possible to see the Mediterranean.

More resorts are scheduled to open over the weekend, including Portes du Soleil and La Plagne.

Conditions improved when a layer of fresh snow fell earlier this week and more powder is expected in the coming days.

On Tignes" famous Grande Motte glacier, temperatures remained below -10 degrees C on Wednesday (7 December), allowing 30cm of fresh snow to fall on the 100cm already there.
