The north African nation is set for a boost in profile next year with the release of Black Gold, a film starring Antonio Banderas and Mark Strong that was filmed on location in the southern town of Matmata.

The Tunisian National Tourism Office also recommended a trip to Ksar Ghilane to look at the night sky while surrounded by natural hot springs and a ride on the Red Lizard Train from Metlaoui to see pink mountains, canyons and striking rock formations.
