Swiss voted top short-haul airline by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Following a survey of more than 8,000 people by the consumer group, Swiss received an overall customer score of 76%, putting it in first place ahead of Aer Lingus with 67%.

Ratings were significantly higher in the category covering long-haul flight providers, which was topped by Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand with 89% and 88% respectively.

Emirates was ranked third in this section with a score of 80%.

Ryanair (38%) was singled out as one of the worst airlines in the short-haul category, receiving two stars for value for money and just one star for the quality of its boarding procedures.

Rochelle Turner, head of research for Which? Travel, said the choice of carrier can have a big impact on a trip and dictate whether passengers arrive at their destination feeling tired or refreshed.

She added: "The top-rated airlines all score highly for both the cost and value for money of the flight and most still include free hold luggage, plus onboard drinks and snacks in the ticket price - something clearly prized by travellers."
