BA planes to feature dove design to mark Olympics by Cheap Flights Booker UK

British Airways (BA) will celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by displaying a dove motif on a number of its aircraft.

The artwork was created by up-and-coming British designer Pascal Anson, who beat hundreds of other entrants in the BA Great Britons programme, which was judged by a panel including Turner Prize-nominated artist Tracey Emin.

Emin, who also acted as a mentor and advised Anson during the project, said the dove imagery was selected owing to its originality and the artist"s decision to ignore the easy option of putting a simple pattern or logo on the side of an aircraft.

"The dove is a stunning piece of work and will bring real excitement to anyone who flies on one of the repainted planes," she commented.

BA"s Great Britons programme will also include the introduction of a London 2012-inspired menu designed by Simon Hulstone and a short film written by Prasanna Puwanarajah, which were created with support from Heston Blumenthal and Richard E Grant respectively.
