Canary Islands set to prove popular for cruises by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The Canary Islands are set to prove a highly popular option for cruise holidays this year, according to industry news and reviews website Cruise Critic.
Bargain hunters could check out the Arabian Gulf, where good offers are expected to become available as a result of competition between operators such as Royal Caribbean, Costa and MSC Cruises.
Sailings around the UK will continue to see strong demand in 2012, according to the website, along with river voyages in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Highlighting another popular option, Carolyn Spencer Brown, Cruise Critic editor-in-chief, said: "The Caribbean will remain a firm favourite for cruisers and cruise lines continue to increase capacity in the region.
"However, we"re also seeing lines add new itineraries that include visits to less-frequented ports."
Another trend for people embarking on holidays at sea to look out for this year is a tougher stance on smoking, with several lines introducing new policies in January with the aim of reducing the number of people smoking onboard their ships.
