Croatia Aiming For Quality
Croatia "aiming for quality" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Improving the quality of the visitor experience is one of the main aims of Croatia"s tourism industry this year, the country"s promotional agency has revealed.
Niko Bulic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, said the country is more interested in providing high-end, luxury experiences than becoming a beach holiday hotspot.
Hotels are taking part in the initiative to boost quality by making the improvements required to enhance their star rating.
"We are no longer a mass-market beach holiday destination - we are aiming for quality," said Mr Bulic.
"This is why many hotels have upgraded to three, four or five stars."
The tourist board director also pointed out that visitors have the option of booking rooms let out by local residents, which provides a more authentic experience than staying in a hotel.
Popular activities on offer to holidaymakers visiting Croatia include taking cruises to some of the country"s 1,244 islands, with Hvar, Krk and Korcula among the most popular destinations.
