EasyJet: Bacon butties the snack of choice for Brits by Cheap Flights Booker UK

EasyJet has published a national poll suggesting that bacon rolls and sandwiches are the most popular snack for British people.

Bacon butties attracted four times as many votes as cheese on toast, the second favourite option.

The finding is supported by easyJet"s onboard sales figures, with more than 2.5m bacon baguettes sold on the airline"s flights since they were introduced in 2008.

Sharon Huetson, the carrier"s strategic partnership manager for inflight services, said the menu option is popular among passengers "looking for a hearty snack at the beginning of their journey" as well as those seeking "the first taste of home on their way back".

A freshly cooked bacon sandwich also emerged as the most appealing food smell for the respondents to the survey, ahead of traditional British favourite fish and chips.

EasyJet also asked nearly 1,000 UK adults what sort of snacks they would choose to cheer themselves up during the economic downturn and found that almost half (48%) would opt for simple comfort food.
