BA "delighted" to return to Libya by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British Airways (BA) has said it is "delighted" to be returning to Libya following the announcement that it will be resuming flights to Tripoli later this year.
The carrier will reinstate a service to the Libyan capital from London Heathrow on 1 May, following a thorough security review in consultation with the British government and authorities in the north African nation.
Travellers will be able to access three connections to the city every week.
BA chief executive Keith Williams said: "Our flights to Tripoli have provided a vital economic link for many years and it is good news for everyone that we can now restart operations."
Among the recent developments in the airline"s network this year is the introduction of a new Boeing 777-300ER, a plane that has the capacity to carry up to 299 passengers across four cabins.
The aircraft - which is the fifth 777-300ER in BA"s fleet - was deployed on flights to Tokyo and operated its first service on 1 January.
