BA to welcome Air Berlin to oneworld by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Air Berlin is set to join the oneworld alliance in March, with British Airways (BA) sponsoring the carrier"s membership as part of its plans to strengthen its network in Germany and Europe.

BA recently completed a review of the German carrier"s operations prior to its induction into the group.

Joining the oneworld alliance - which also counts the likes of American Airlines, Iberia and Cathay Pacific among its members - will boost Air Berlin"s network in Europe and around the world.

The development will precede the opening of Brandenburg airport in Germany"s capital, which will see Air Berlin, BA and other oneworld operators co-locating in the same terminal.

Passengers will be able to access shared lounges and facilities, as well as smoother transfers and connections between flights.

BA claims that its customers are already benefiting from links with Air Berlin, with the carriers signing a codeshare agreement last year covering more than 40 routes across Europe.
