EasyJet to boost capacity on flights from Newcastle by Cheap Flights Booker UK

EasyJet is set to make more seats available on services from Newcastle airport this year to meet rising demand for flights from north-east England.

The airline will replace the existing Airbus A319 with an A320, providing an additional 13,000 seats on a total of eight routes.

Capacity will increase on flights to Malaga, Alicante and Majorca - all of which are popular sun holiday destinations - as well as links to Barcelona, Paris, Malta, Belfast and Bristol.

Hugh Aitken, easyJet"s commercial manager, said the decision to base a larger aircraft at Newcastle demonstrates the airline"s commitment to growth at the airport.

"Passengers flying from Newcastle will now find it even easier to jet off and soak up the sun and city culture," he added.

The airline operates an average of 11 flights per day from the base in north-east England, carrying more than 450,000 passengers to its 13 destinations every year.
