Flybe boosts capacity on Glasgow to Birmingham route by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Flybe has based its first ever Embraer 195 jet aircraft at Glasgow in order to increase capacity on flights to Birmingham from the Scottish airport.

The introduction of the new plane means that an additional 70,000 seats are now available on the route.

Flybe currently operates up to 82 flights per week between Glasgow and Birmingham.

Simon Lilley, director of marketing for the carrier, said the decision to increase capacity on the domestic route was made in response to strong demand shown by customers.

Glasgow airport"s commercial director, Francois Bourienne, said the move provides "excellent news" for travellers, adding: "The airline is responding to an increase in demand for the service, which is extremely popular with both business and leisure passengers."

Furthermore, Flybe has confirmed that it will provide additional benefits and amenities for passengers at the Scottish base with the opening of a new lounge in the coming months.
