Heathrow passengers "kiss every 49 seconds" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Heathrow airport has announced the results of a survey showing that love is well and truly in the air at the London hub, with passengers reportedly sharing a kiss every 49 seconds.

Arriving travellers lock lips with loved ones an average of 74 times per hour, or more than 1,200 times per day.

The arrivals area at Heathrow"s third terminal - where part of the Richard Curtis film Love Actually was filmed - sees some 29 kisses an hour, more than any other terminal at the airport.

It is estimated that nearly half a million people will have jetted off from the base in the four-day period from 10 February to Valentine"s Day, with flights to New York proving the most popular option for couples embarking on romantic getaways.

Dubai and Dublin were ranked the second and third most popular destinations for loved-up travellers going away during the period, followed by Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
