History Colorado Center Opening In Denver
History Colorado Center opening in Denver by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers catching flights to Denver for a break in the city this year will be able to visit one of its newest attractions.
The History Colorado Center, a $110m (£69.7m) development, is due to open on 28 April 2012.
It is described by Visit Denver as an "experiential museum" that will "make Colorado history fun".
When they enter the site, visitors can walk on a giant map of the state and push a machine providing an insight into the heritage of various towns in the region.
The "time machine" will use video, photographs and sound to tell stories and share an array of fascinating facts.
Other experiences on offer at the new visitor centre will include driving across the plains in a Model T Ford, donning a headlamp to descend into a hard-rock mine and arriving at a 19th-century train station.
Culture vultures visiting Denver this year can head to the recently opened Clyfford Still Museum, which showcases work by a significant but little-known American artist who contributed to the development of the abstract expressionist movement along with the likes of Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko.
