Qatar Airways to launch second Australian route this summer by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Qatar Airways will boost access to Australia for travellers this year with the introduction of its second route to the country.

The airline will offer twice-weekly flights to Perth from its hub in Doha on 3 July.

Since entering the Australian market in December 2009, with the launch of direct services to Melbourne, Qatar Airways has been considering the option of providing additional capacity in the region.

Perth is one of several destinations due to enter the airline"s network this year, with expansion in Africa set to continue with the introduction of a scheduled route to Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, on 21 March.

The carrier will also boost its presence in Europe with a new link to Zagreb, Croatia, while plans are in place to begin operations to Mombasa in Kenya and Helsinki in Finland, among other cities.

Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways" chief executive officer, said the airline was "delighted" to be forging ahead with its expansion plans this year.

He added: "In keeping with our highly focused and tailored growth strategy to enter underserved and thriving markets all over the world, the latest additions very much match our plans to open up a host of new destinations."
