BA Passengers To See Short Film BOY
BA passengers to see short film BOY by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers catching flights with British Airways over the coming months will have the opportunity to see BOY, which was written by British screenwriter Prasanna Puwanarajah as part of the BA Great Britons programme.
The nine-minute silent film stars Timothy Spall as a carpenter who maintains the track at the Velodrome in London"s Olympic Park, a job that forces him to confront the loss of his son, a track cyclist.
Up to 6m passengers are expected to see BOY during BA flights, while a "making of" documentary will be shown at the pre-opening of the Olympic Games ceremony.
Mr Puwanarajah was mentored during the project by actor and director Richard E Grant, who said: "The beauty about BOY is that millions of people from all over the world will understand it, because there are no barriers with silent films, and Timothy Spall is utterly superb."
The BA Great Britons programme also saw artist Pascal Anson working with Tracey Emin to create a dove design for aircraft in the airline"s fleet, while chef Simon Hulstone designed a distinctive British menu in collaboration with Heston Blumenthal.
