BA to open pop-up venue in London by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British Airways will next month launch an airline-themed pop-up venue in east London to celebrate what the company describes as "the best in British talent" ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games.
The three-in-one art gallery, cinema and dining lounge, named Flight BA2012, will be open on Shoreditch High Street on selected weekdays from 4 to 17 April.
Visitors can see a piece of art, watch a short film and sample an Olympics-inspired British menu, which were created by the three people chosen to take part in the BA Great Britons programme.
Artist Pascal Anson, screenwriter Prasanna Purwanarajah and chef Simon Hulstone were mentored and aided in their work by Tracey Emin, Richard E Grant and Heston Blumenthal respectively.
Frank van der Post, BA"s managing director of brands and customer experience, said: "We wanted to bring the flying experience to the public, allowing guests to preview our inflight entertainment, celebratory aircraft livery and onboard menus in anticipation of the London 2012 Games."
