Flybe To Create Regional Network Hub In Manchester
Flybe to create regional network hub in Manchester by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Flybe is set to become the first ever independent carrier to operate a regional network hub in the UK, giving passengers access to an additional 86 connections and 12 new flights from Manchester airport.
The airline has worked in partnership with the northern base to streamline connections and reduce transfer times to as little as 35 minutes.
Passengers will be offered a choice of multiple day return services from Manchester, while people travelling from regional areas will have greater access to the airport"s routes to international destinations.
The airline claimed that the additional travel options will be particularly beneficial for people heading to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, the Isle of Man, Exeter and Belfast City.
Flybe"s marketing director Simon Lilley noted that 5% of passengers already make use of the range of connections available with the carrier.
"As Europe"s largest regional airline serving 36 UK departure points, it made sense to "join" more of them up and do it over Manchester, one of our largest bases," he added.
One of the possible results of the initiative is an increase in the number of regional travellers connecting to international flights via Manchester rather than London Heathrow.
