Heathrow preparing for busiest week of year so far by Cheap Flights Booker UK

London Heathrow is preparing for its busiest seven days of the year so far during the first week of the Easter school holidays, with more than 1.6m people expected to use the airport between 30 March and 6 April.

Friday 30 March is set to be the busiest day of all as over 220,000 travellers arrive home or head abroad to get their spring breaks underway.

The London hub is predicting a total of 3.4m passengers for the entire two-week school holiday from 30 March to 15 April and is expecting Sunday 15 April to be the most hectic day for arrivals, with some 46,000 people flying into Terminal 5 alone.

A number of special provisions have been arranged to make the travel experience as simple and fun as possible for families, including pre-flight play areas, dedicated check-in lanes and even special appearances by Peter Rabbit.

Additional staff will also be deployed throughout the airport to handle the Easter rush.

Normand Boivin, the London base"s chief operating officer, said: "This coming Easter … we aim at making the journeys of the millions of passengers who will pass via Heathrow better and ensure their experience of Heathrow is a positive one."
