Qatar Airways to serve Myanmar and Tanzania by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Travellers interested in exploring Africa or south-east Asia this year will have more access to the regions with Qatar Airways, which is set to launch flights to Tanzania and Myanmar, also known as Burma.

As part of a major international expansion spanning a six-month period starting in May, the airline will introduce services from Doha to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and the capital city of Yangon in Myanmar.

It will also open routes linking its Qatar hub to the cities of Erbil and Baghdad in Iraq and the Serbian capital Belgrade.

Furthermore, Qatar Airways confirmed a number of schedule changes for the coming year, including an increase in the number of daily flights to Doha from London Heathrow to five.

Discussing the plans at the ITB travel show in Berlin, the airline"s chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker said: "Today"s announcement reflects the importance Qatar Airways places on expanding its portfolio of … destinations and offer[ing] more frequency on existing routes to provide more choice, more flexibility and more options."

The news follows previous confirmation that the carrier will launch flights to Perth, Mombasa, Zanzibar and other new destinations in 2012.
