Virgin confirms Heathrow to Mumbai route by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Travellers interested in exploring India will have the option of catching flights to Mumbai with Virgin Atlantic from 28 October this year.

The airline announced that it will operate daily services from London Heathrow to the destination, which is the most populous city in India and the fourth most populous in the world.

A 9% increase has been recorded in the number of people flying from Heathrow to Mumbai since 2009, making it the 12th busiest long-haul route available from the London hub.

As well as responding to this growing demand, Virgin Atlantic"s new flights will build on the success of the carrier"s service from New Delhi to London and New York, which saw 20% passenger growth in 2011.

Steve Ridgway, the company"s chief executive officer, revealed that new Airbus A330 aircraft will be deployed on the route, providing Indian-style entertainment and food.

"Importantly, the plane is also our most fuel-efficient aircraft, delivering Virgin Atlantic"s commitment to flying a lower carbon fleet," he added.
