Equatorial Belt Should Be Promoted As One Destination

Equatorial belt "should be promoted as one destination" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Destinations located along the equator could benefit from joining forces to promote their attractions to tourists, according to a spokesman for the Seychelles.

Alain St Ange, minister of tourism and culture for the island nation, said the challenging economic environment has made it difficult for small countries to launch individual marketing campaigns.

He highlighted the Caribbean as an example of an integrated destination, noting that travellers generally refer to the region as a whole, rather than to specific islands.

"So it is time for us to promote the equatorial belt to the world as one group, as a tourism destination," said Mr St Ange.

"It"s an easy line to sell because it"s a dream."

Discussing the appeal of the Seychelles and other nations on the equator, the tourism minister pointed out that the region always offers warm weather, which can be enjoyed on scenic beaches washed by turquoise waters.

Travellers can also see wildlife in equatorial countries such as Kenya, one of the top safari destinations in Africa.
