Icelandair opens new Reykjavik hotel by Cheap Flights Booker UK
As well as providing direct air access to Iceland via flights to Reykjavik from London, Manchester and Glasgow, national carrier Icelandair is now offering a new accommodation option in the country.
The Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina this week opened its doors in the harbour district of the capital"s downtown area.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Mount Esja and Faxafloi Bay, the hotel comprises 108 rooms and offers access to some of the attractions in and around the city, such as the Hallgrimskirkja church and the National Museum of Iceland.
Other amenities include a sit-down cafe, a cocktail bar and a movie theatre screening Icelandic films with English subtitles.
Manager Snorri Thors said the new property has a "fresh and funky cosmopolitan design" and provides an "authentic and relaxed" experience inspired by Nordic seafaring culture and maritime history.
"All the elements of style and design throughout the public areas and rooms have been sourced from Iceland," he added.
Icelandair manages a number of hotels in Iceland, including one property in the northern town of Akureyri.
