New European destinations on offer from Birmingham by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Travellers based in the West Midlands can now reach three popular European destinations from Birmingham airport, following bmibaby"s recent launch of flights to Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon.

The carrier, which is the low-cost subsidiary of bmi, celebrated its new service to Italy"s capital city by treating passengers to slices of pizza topped with buffalo mozzarella and meatballs.

Waiters in Roman togas served the food to customers before they headed to the departures area to board their aircraft.

Julian Carr, bmibaby"s managing director, said the airline was "delighted" to expand its network from Birmingham with links to these "fantastic" European cities.

He added: "These first flights were exceptionally busy, with 96% of the seats sold on the inaugural flights to Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon."

The launches were also welcomed by William Pearson, head of route development at Birmingham airport, who said the West Midlands gateway is going through a "really exciting time".

Other destinations accessible from the base include Paris, Berlin and Dubrovnik.
