Passenger growth continues at London Gatwick by Cheap Flights Booker UK

London Gatwick has enjoyed its 15th consecutive month of passenger growth as passenger numbers increased by 3.9% in March, with new flights to Germany and Iceland meaning the busy airport now offers even more options to travellers.

The number of passengers passing through the transport hub increased to 93,400 over the course of March, although the amount of air traffic decreased by 3.5% on a year-on-year basis.

Budget airlines played an important role in the growing number of travellers as consumers attempt to save cash in the current economic climate, according to the airport.

Chief executive officer Stewart Wingate said: "This has been a successful year for Gatwick, having achieved passenger growth every single month despite the economic headwinds being faced in our industry."

The airport recently launched a new service for people taking holidays in Trinidad, with a non-stop flight setting off for the Caribbean island four times a week.
