Australia aims to invest more in tourism by Cheap Flights Booker UK
There could soon be a wider range of hotels, attractions and other amenities on offer to travellers visiting Australia as a result of a new strategic partnership.
Tourism Australia, the government tourism department and the Australian Trade Commission have joined forces in order to highlight the many investment opportunities available across the country.
Due to run for five years, the partnership was officially launched at an event in Melbourne attended by tourism minister Martin Ferguson.
The organisations participating in the initiative highlighted a number of investment-ready projects, such as Perth Waterfront & Waterbank East Perth, a five-star hotel and mixed-use development in Western Australia.
Accommodation complexes in Adelaide, Brisbane and Darwin could also see a financial boost as a result of the deal, along with Pumphouse Lake St Clair, a wilderness lodge at Cradle Mountain, Tasmania.
Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy said greater investment is "crucial" if the country is to achieve its goal of doubling overnight visitor expenditure by 2020.
