Brits Using Social Media To Discuss Holidays
Brits using social media to discuss holidays by Cheap Flights Booker UK
An increasing number of Britons are using social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to discuss, and occasionally boast about, their holidays, according to research.
A study commissioned by the Hilton HHonors loyalty programme found that more than 60% of people like to show off about their trips, while almost half think it is important to be ahead of the game regarding travel trends.
Four out of ten respondents claimed they are always among the first people within their groups of friends to visit new destinations.
Highlighting the importance of technology for modern travellers, the survey found that more than 40% of holidaymakers like to share their activities by regularly adding photos to their Facebook accounts.
This proportion increases to 60% in the 16 to 44 age group.
A quarter of UK consumers text and email people during holidays to tell them how much fun they are having, despite one in five saying they only feel like they are really "getting away from it all" if they have limited access to technology like mobile phones and the internet, according to the research.
