Fred. Olsen Welcomes Boost For Liverpool Cruises
Fred. Olsen welcomes boost for Liverpool cruises by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has welcomed the government announcement that restrictions are to be lifted on Liverpool"s Pier Head terminal, allowing the site to host turnaround calls.
The move means that voyages can now start and finish at the port, rather than simply calling there as part of an itinerary originating elsewhere.
Boudicca, one of four ships in the Fred. Olsen fleet, will be returning to Liverpool in the spring/summer 2013 season for a series of ten voyages, including a 12-night trip to the Canary Islands.
Nathan Philpot, the company"s sales and marketing director, said the recent development provides an opportunity for the English city to boost its status as a major UK departure port.
"It also benefits Fred. Olsen and other cruise operators, as it will improve the accessibility of the port by eliminating locks and increasing the tidal window available to cruise ships," he added.
The line will also be offering more options for UK travellers next year by adding Belfast and Harwich to its range of regional departure ports.
