Kennedy Space Center Offering Behind The Scenes Tours
Kennedy Space Center offering behind-the-scenes tours by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Holidaymakers visiting destinations such as Miami and Orlando in Florida this year might be interested in heading to the Kennedy Space Center to take part in celebrations of the site"s 50th anniversary.
The attraction will offer some special experiences to mark the occasion, including tours of the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) that have been extended to the end of 2012.
Visitors to the 525-foot-tall structure - which is reportedly one of the largest buildings in the world - can see where Nasa"s Apollo rockets and space shuttles were constructed.
The VAB had been off-limits to the public before the tour was launched in November last year.
Florida"s Kennedy Space Center also provides one of the best vantage points to see rocket launches, more than ten of which have been scheduled for 2012.
Commenting on the experiences on offer to guests this year, Bill Moore, chief operating officer of the centre"s visitor complex, said: "There"s an opportunity to see fascinating aspects of the space programme that few people have seen and a chance your visit can coincide with a rocket launch."
