More Brits heading to Germany by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Germany"s national tourist board has revealed that the country is proving increasingly popular among travellers from the UK.
At an annual press conference at the Goethe Institute in London, Klaus Lohmann of the German National Tourist Office announced statistics showing that 6.6% of the nation"s visitors now come from the UK.
This makes Britain one of the biggest European source markets for travel to Germany, second only to the Netherlands.
Also revealed at the conference were some of the themes that will help define the country"s tourism industry in 2013, including the 200th anniversary of the birth of composer Richard Wagner and the 150th year since the death of the Brothers Grimm.
Mr Lohmann said there are now many reasons to visit Germany, from sampling its wine to celebrating its history.
"We also aim to provide inspiration for new ideas and fresh ways to look at Germany as a tourist destination today and in years to come," he added.
Travellers can reach the country by catching flights to Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt, among other cities.
