Ritz-Carlton opens first luxury resort in Japan by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has opened its first luxury resort in Japan - the Ritz-Carlton Okinawa.
Consisting of hundreds of separate islands in a chain covering more than 1,000km, Okinawa has long been a "secret getaway" for Japanese visitors but remains relatively unknown to international travellers, according to the hotel chain.
The new property comprises 97 guestrooms and two suites, each of which has a balcony or terrace offering views of the East China Sea and the Kise Country Club.
Guests can also pay a visit to Kise, a restaurant serving local seafood and renowned Okinawa beef, or take a walk through the landscaped gardens.
Other experiences on offer include enjoying a massage at the on-site spa or heading out of the resort to visit Okinawa"s championship golf courses, beaches and other attractions.
Herve Humler, president and chief operations officer of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, said: "We have no doubt that Okinawa has the potential to be a resort island of true international appeal, attracting visitors from all over the world, whether they are visiting the island for business or pleasure."
The new property complements the company"s city hotels in Tokyo and Osaka.
