South African Cities Launch Tourism Agreement
South African cities launch tourism agreement by Cheap Flights Booker UK
South Africa"s urban attractions and experiences are set to be showcased as part of a new agreement between Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.
The Three Cities Alliance will see the destinations combining their resources to form a national initiative promoting their offerings for travellers.
There will be joint domestic and international marketing campaigns and efforts to align events calendars in the three locations where possible, providing a more complete experience for visitors.
South African Tourism chief executive Thulani Nzima noted that the government has identified the travel and tourism sector as one of six key growth areas for the national economy.
"Even though South Africa is well-known for its world-class wildlife offering, South African Tourism is increasingly projecting to a global audience that South Africa offers so much more," he added.
Mr Nzima went on to provide examples such as the country"s "vibrant" music industry, rich heritage and its status as an emerging fashion capital.
