Ukraine"s currency available from all Post Office branches by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Football fans planning to catch flights to Kiev and other destinations in Ukraine for the Euro 2012 tournament this summer will be able to purchase some of the country"s currency from the Post Office.

The organisation has announced that Ukrainian hryvnia is now available for pre-order and next-day delivery from all of its 11,500 branches.

As well as obtaining the currency in a range of denominations before setting off, British travellers will be able to exchange any left over foreign money when they return to the UK provided they keep their sales receipt.

Andrew Brown, head of Post Office Travel Money, said it is always advisable for people heading abroad to carry some currency for the country they are visiting.

"In Ukraine we recommend always carrying a supply of hryvnia," he added.

"Although credit and debit cards can be used in the main cities, people travelling outside these or staying in smaller establishments may find they are not accepted."

The Post Office recently highlighted the affordability of Ukraine, with a holiday costs survey showing that food and drink prices in the country are approximately half those in Austria and a third of those in Switzerland.
