Brits To Save Money On European Road Trips This Year
Brits "to save money on European road trips this year" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The strength of the pound against European currencies means driving on the continent will be cheaper for Britons this year, according to Post Office Travel Money.
A report from the company suggested that holiday motorists will pay up to 10.4% less for diesel fuel over the coming months than last summer and up to 8.6% less for unleaded petrol.
Andorra offers the lowest prices for filling up, followed by Luxembourg and Spain.
Italy, however, is now the second most expensive of the 18 countries surveyed for pump prices after Norway, despite being one of the cheapest last year.
Only 8% of people polled for the study said they had been put off driving in Europe by high fuel costs, while just 12% would not consider travelling abroad by car.
Andrew Brown, head of Post Office Travel Money, said: "[The research] also revealed that some advance route planning with petrol prices in mind could help ... cut costs."
