Disney opens Art of Animation resort in Florida by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Families planning to catch flights to Orlando for a holiday in Florida can now experience a new and unusual accommodation experience following the opening of the Art of Animation resort at Walt Disney World.

The complex will gradually open in phases, with four distinctly themed wings celebrating the storytelling, characters and creativity associated with Disney and Pixar.

Now open is a Finding Nemo area offering 320 suites, with zones inspired by Cars and The Lion King due to open on 18 June and 10 August respectively.

The phased launch will conclude on 15 September, when the Little Mermaid wing will open with 864 standard guestrooms.

Guests will be able to see features including pencil drawings of Ariel, Lightning McQueen, Nemo and Simba in the entrance area, a chandelier composed of 77 animation storyboards and giant sketchbooks full of popular characters.

Families can also visit the Big Blue pool, the largest resort swimming pool at Walt Disney World.

Frank Paris, one of the Disney "imagineers" who designed the complex, said: "Our goal was to make guests feel like they have been immersed in the artistry and enchantment of Walt Disney and Disney Pixar animated classics."
