Etihad sets new flight bookings record by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Etihad Airways set a new record this month when it received more than 65,500 flight bookings on a single day.

Achieved on Monday 11 June, the new high surpassed the previous record, set in January this year, by 13%.

Furthermore, the period from 14 to 17 June saw the highest number of bookings of any four days in the Abu Dhabi-based airline"s history, while advance premium cabin reservations are expected to reach a new milestone after nearly 3,000 orders were placed for first and business class seats on 17 June.

London, Riyadh, Jeddah and Bangkok were the most popular destinations over the four-day period, while Paris, Sydney and Frankfurt were among the leading premium travel locations.

James Hogan, Etihad"s president and chief executive officer, said the airline had experienced "exceptional" demand this month and leading into the summer.

"We are delighted to have broken our own records for flights bookings and will look to raise the bar further over the coming months," he added.

The carrier recently launched an advertising campaign that has also enjoyed unprecedented success, with a television commercial attracting more than 1m views on YouTube in its first two weeks.
