Trips to destinations such as Cancun, Mexico City and Guadalajara could become more popular among British travellers as a result of new agreement between Mexico and the UK.
The North American nation"s tourism ministry signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with VisitBritain that is designed to increase visitor numbers between the two countries.
Mexican tourism minister Gloria Guevara, who ratified the partnership along with VisitBritain chairman Christopher Rodrigues, said international cooperation is an important part of boosting arrivals figures and supporting the wider travel industry.
The MOU will strengthen links between the UK and Mexico through greater exchange of information, case studies and statistics.
It will also facilitate joint marketing campaigns designed to boost the flow of travellers between the nations and enhance flight connectivity.
Holidaymakers can head to Mexico to explore popular areas such as the Yucatan peninsula, which is home to jungle, Mayan archaeological sites and a scenic coastline on the Caribbean Sea.
