New Pixar movie inspires Scottish tourism campaign by Cheap Flights Booker UK
VisitScotland has teamed up with Disney to launch a global tourism marketing campaign tied in with the new Pixar movie Brave, which is due to be released in August.
The film is set in the Scottish Highlands and features the voices of actors such as Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly and Robbie Coltrane.
Marking the first time Disney has worked on this scale with a national tourism organisation around one of its releases, the campaign will encompass multimedia activities including television and cinema promotions across the UK, North America and Europe.
There will also be digital marketing components and other initiatives celebrating Scotland"s scenery, humour and culture.
Mike Cantlay, chairman of the country"s national tourism agency, said: "This film will be shown in more than 70 countries across the world and will give us the opportunity to convert cinema goers into visitors in the biggest campaign VisitScotland has ever launched."
Tricia Wilber, the Walt Disney Company"s chief marketing officer for Europe, said part of the inspiration for Brave came from the "majesty and mystery" of Scotland.
Travellers interested in visiting the Highlands can catch flights to Aberdeen or Inverness.
