Emirates to fly A380 to South Korea by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Emirates has announced plans to launch A380 flights to Seoul in South Korea, which will represent the first time the Airbus plane has been used on services to the country.
The flight, which will be Emirates" first A380 service to north-east Asia, follows on from the successful launch of the superjumbo to New York and London and forthcoming connections to Sydney and Auckland.
With trade between South Korea and the United Arab Emirates having grown by more than 150% over the past five years, the new flight is expected to prove useful for corporate travellers.
The presence of the A380 in Seoul will also help the South Korean government"s attempts to make Incheon international airport a major hub for air services in Asia.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates, said: "Seoul has been an extremely successful market for Emirates since we introduced services in 2005. In 2004, just 37,000 passengers a year travelled between Dubai and Seoul whereas today it is over 260,000.
"This new aircraft will allow us to further develop this market as well as encourage more tourism and trade to South Korea."
CW Lee, president and chief executive of Incheon airport, said the arrival of the A380 will represent "a significant milestone for the future of Incheon and aviation in South Korea".
