Etihad wins two Irish travel trade awards by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Etihad has celebrated winning two major awards at this year"s Irish Travel Trade News Awards.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline, which is the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, was named the best business class operator at a ceremony at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin.
It also won the award for the best airline flying to the Middle East and Africa and was voted the runner-up in the Asia and Australasia category.
Etihad currently operates daily flights between Dublin and Abu Dhabi, which prove popular among travellers accessing connections to Sydney and Brisbane via the airline"s home base.
Beatrice Cosgrove, Etihad"s Ireland country manager, said: "Etihad Airways enjoyed a very successful 2008 in Ireland, achieving an average seat factor of 80%, and so to be recognised by the travel agents of Ireland and Northern Ireland is a great privilege.
"We are committed to our relationship with the Irish travel trade and providing a premier service to our Irish customers."
In July this year, the airline will celebrate the second anniversary of its flights to Ireland.
