One Stop Security System Adopted In France
"One-stop" security system adopted in France by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The International Air Transport Association (Iata) has welcomed the adoption of the "one-stop" security system in France, claiming that it will increase convenience for travellers while maintaining security standards.
Passengers who have already been screened at an EU airport can catch connecting flights at another European hub without going through additional checks under the scheme.
The launch of the system in Lyon and at certain terminals at Paris Charles de Gaulle is expected to save some $30m (£20m) and benefit 6m passengers without affecting security standards.
Airports in the UK and Ireland were urged by Iata director general Giovanni Bisignani to follow the lead of several other EU countries and implement the one-stop method.
"The business case for one-stop security is clear: faster, hassle-free connections for passengers and lower security costs for everyone involved. There is no compromise on quality," he said.
"I urge other states - particularly the UK and Ireland - to come on board quickly."
Iata announced last month that it had reached an agreement with the Commonwealth of Independent States to improve aviation safety in countries that were formerly part of the Soviet Union.
