Virgin Atlantic announces new baggage policy by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Virgin Atlantic has announced its new baggage policy, a "piece system" that will come into effect across its network for all flights booked from 25 November.
Economy passengers will be able to check in one bag under the new regulations, while premium economy customers will be able to board two bags and those flying in upper class will be given a three-bag allowance.
The weight limit for all items of luggage, regardless of the class of travel, will be 23kg.
Virgin Atlantic also announced that it was continuing to offer its sporting bag allowance, enabling all passengers to check in an extra item carrying sports equipment such as golf clubs, scuba diving gear or skis.
Chris Birch, the airline"s head of product and service, said: "Passengers can now benefit from one of the simplest and most generous baggage policies in the industry.
"It means lower charges for passengers wishing to take additional bags and a great allowance for those going on a sporting trip."
Virgin Atlantic is reportedly the only UK long-haul airline that allows passengers to check in surfboards.
