Eurostar "has brought UK closer to Europe" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Eurostar high-speed rail links to the continent have brought the UK and Europe closer together, according to a survey carried out by the company.

Almost all (97%) of the people polled said Eurostar services have strengthened Britain"s links to France and Belgium.

Nearly nine out of ten (87%) respondents were of the opinion that our lives have been improved by the social and cultural exchange enabled by Eurostar, while 89% are now more likely to take a job requiring regular travel to the continent.

The UK and France are "getting closer all the time" as a result of high-speed rail links, according to a fifth (21%) of the people surveyed.

Richard Brown, chief executive of Eurostar, said: "There"s no doubt that Eurostar has transformed our relationship with the continent and enriched lives on both sides of the channel.

"When we launched in 1994 we could never have foreseen that 15 years on London would be France"s sixth largest city and that people would be commuting between the UK and the continent."

Eurostar provides direct rail connections to Calais, Lille and Paris in France and Brussels in Belgium.
